Description
We are excited to auction off this one of a kind Zuni bracelet! It features Blue Gem turquoise and purple spiny oyster inlay in a geometric pattern, handmade silver rope, and a graduated solid silver cuff! Absolutely Noteworthy!
The Blue Gem turquoise stone is celebrated for its vibrant colors and exceptional quality, making it one of the most prized varieties of turquoise. Mined in several locations in Nevada, the stone is known for its unique range of hues, from deep blue to green, often with a golden or brown matrix. Its high hardness allows for a smooth, polished finish, enhancing its natural beauty and making it durable for intricate jewelry work. Blue Gem turquoise is especially valued for its rarity, as mining operations ceased in the 1970s, leaving limited quantities available. This stone has been a favorite among Native American and Southwestern jewelry artisans, who use it to create striking, timeless pieces that capture the essence of the American Southwest. The width of the bracelet measures around 1". Signed by Zuni artist, R.G.B. Sterling silver, marked. The inside end to end measures around 5-1/2" with an additional 1-1/8" gap. Sturdy 42 grams.
